Tile Mountain reveals plans for £10m investment
Following a year of rapid growth, online tile retailer Tile Mountain, has this week revealed plans to create 70 new jobs as part of a £10 million investment in a brand new 109,000sq ft warehouse, offices and showroom.
Having achieved 60% year on year growth, Mo Iqbal the company's Chairman says their success has resulted in Tile Mountain outgrowing its current site in Hanley, Stoke on Trent.
The planning application for a brand new warehouse and tile showroom will be located at the former Johnson Tiles Works in Tunstall. If the new plans are approved by the council, then Tile Mountain, will move its current operation, which employs 27 people to the new site.
Mo went on to say: "Since its inception three years ago, Tile Mountain has become the fastest-growing online tile company in the UK. We are thrilled that our rate of growth will continue to provide further jobs for local people.I was brought up in Tunstall and am delighted to be able to be back investing in the area."
If the £10 million plans are approved, the company will be the first firm to invest in the Ceramics Valley Enterprise Zone, a scheme backed by the government which aims to encourage jobs and growth through tax breaks and other incentives.
