Toolstation Colleagues Complete ‘Tough Mudder’ For Macmillan

Toolstation - Tough Mudder Fundraiser

A 10 strong team from Toolstation took on a gruelling Tough Mudder challenge on Saturday 5th July at Belvoir Castle in Grantham, to help raise funds for its charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event saw the team tackle over 12 obstacles over a 5km course at the Belvoir Castle course overcoming icy water, extreme mud, fire, electricity, rope climbing and much more.

A £4,500 fundraising goal was set by the team, and supporters are welcome to donate through the team’s Just Giving page. So far just over £2,000 has been raised.

Dave Martin, Regional Manager for the West Midlands, who was part of the challenge says: “We’re always looking for new ways to support the fantastic work that Macmillan Cancer Support provides to those living with cancer. This Tough Mudder was all about collective teamwork and whether we’re being zapped by electricity or clambering over 12 obstacles, we were determined to finish the course as a group. We’ve already almost half of our fundraising target to go we are hopeful that we’ll raise the full amount.”

Rebecca Fanning, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Macmillan, says: “We’re blown away by the remarkable efforts of Toolstation colleagues to raise vital funds for Macmillan. Macmillan is 98% funded by generous donations from the public and our fantastic partners, and its fundraising efforts like these that enable us to continue doing whatever it takes for people living with cancer, whoever and wherever they are. I know I speak for everyone at Macmillan when I say a huge thank you to Toolstation’s Midlands colleagues for getting muddy for Macmillan.”

£4,500 could help run Macmillan’s Online Community forum for nearly a week. In this time, over 9,000 people affected by cancer in the UK can read and share experiences and support each other on anything to do with cancer – from treatments, to coping with everyday life, to the death of a loved one.

Donations can still be made on Toolstation’s JustGiving page:

2025 marks the fifth year of support for Macmillan by Toolstation. The retailer has raised a total of £3 million for the charity, enabling Macmillan to do whatever it takes to help more people with cancer across the UK get the best possible care, whoever and wherever they are.
