TradePoint well on the way to becoming multichannel

TradePoint has announced the arrival of a new Orderline designed to make ordering easier for tradesmen.

Since January 2012 the new call centre has spoken with thousands of tradesmen and arranged next day deliveries on a range of trade products.

The Orderline is another way for the trade to shop with TradePoint if they are on the move or in a hurry and hard pushed to reach one of 128 counters across the UK. The ordering service is open seven days a week, including bank holidays, and offers free next-day delivery, direct to site.

TradePoint is offering this service on a range of 8,350 small and large items, including power tools, hardware, bricks, blocks, cement, and even kitchens and bathrooms.

TradePoint already offers a range of services it claims make tradesmen’s lives easier, such as brick matching, free website-building tools, paint mixing, and timber cutting. Members of TradePoint can also benefit from a trade account, designed to help small- to medium-sized businesses manage their accounts.

Trevor Culpin at TradePoint said: “Our new Orderline is another way we’re helping our TradePoint members. Our members already benefit from our 128 counters that have over 14,000 products stocked behind the counter and now they can take advantage of being able to just pick up the phone to order with free next day delivery. We’re encouraging more members to take advantage of this service and hope to see orders increase as the trade gets used to this new way of ordering.”

TradePoint’s Orderline is the first step on its way to becoming a multichannel retailer. With plans for a Digital Catalogue in the coming weeks and an eCommerce website launching early next year, they are evolving with increasingly mobile and tech savvy tradesmen.
