Travis Perkins supplies first UK home in green scheme
All materials for the first home to be part of a new Government energy saving scheme will be supplied by Northampton’s Travis Perkins.
Sustainable Building Solutions, the specialist division of the Travis Perkins Group, has agreed to be the sole supplier for the first Green Deal Plan with a UK homeowner.
The Green Deal is a Government-backed initiative to make Britain’s homes more energy efficient. It offers a new way of paying for improvements like insulation and new heating systems through savings on household energy bills.
Paul Joyner, director of Sustainable Building Solutions, said: “The Travis Perkins Group is open to business from the Green Deal – it’s fantastic that homeowners have started signing up on day one and we’re looking forward to more interest during the coming months.
“Our plan is best-placed to satisfy installers and contractors due to the breadth of our ‘whole house’ product range, from boilers to wall insulation, from renewables to lighting.”
Travis Perkins Group are supplying to Toriga, an approved Green Deal provider company, on the first project. The two firms are among the ‘pioneer’ companies that were closely involved in the development and testing of the Green Deal scheme.
