Travis Perkins to double investment in Leamington Spa
Northampton-based builders' merchant Travis Perkins is doubling its investment in Leamington Spa taking 36,000 sq ft at a £6m trade park development. The move is expected to create 30 jobs in the town.
The main depot on the 2.8-acre Queensway site is being designed and completed by Coventry-based Deeley Construction.
The neighbouring buildings will contain Travis Perkins' additional outlets Tile Giant, City Plumbing, Benchmarx and Toolstation.
As part of the project, the Deeley Group is also supporting the Brunswick Healthy Living Centre (BHLC) and creating jobs for apprentices on the site.
John Reading from Travis Perkins said: "This is a major investment for Travis Perkins and we believe this adds to our offer in Leamington and the surrounding areas."
Peter Deeley, chairman of Deeley Construction, added: "The land has been unused since engineering firm AL-KO Kober relocated to Southam so it is great to see it being put to good use, bringing new business and jobs to the area.
"As part of this project we have taken on two apprentices in trainee management positions too with plans for more to join."
