Trojan Workwear Looking to Eliminate the Builders Bum

More than a third of tradespeople have revealed they’ve been called out over their builder’s bum - and now one workwear brand is stepping in to close the gap.
Some 66% of Brits have witnessed a builder’s bum and believe bricklayers are the most likely to accidentally expose too much skin, followed by plumbers and carpet fitters.
Electricians, stonemasons and plasterers are among the tradespeople least likely to suffer a wardrobe malfunction while crouching or bending, the study of 2,000 people revealed by the leading trade workwear brand, TROJAN.
It comes as TROJAN launched a new performance workwear range to combat the dreaded builder’s bum with integrated shirt grips and a raised waistband to help protect the lower back.
One tradesman hailed the cargo trousers' elasticated waistband a “game-changer”, while another praised the “great fit and stretch” in five-star reviews.
More than half of tradesfolk think comfort, fit and style are important for work clothing and 73% revealed they don their workwear to the pub.
TROJAN has launched a hunt to crown the UK’s toughest tradie with a series of challenges across two days this month (October).
It comes as scaffolders were voted the toughest trade by their fellow tradies in the battle of the blue-collar workers.
The resilient riggers came out on top in the study of tradespeople from across the UK - but the public has thrown a spanner in the works by handing the title to roofers.
James Posnett, Product Manager for TROJAN, said: “It doesn’t matter what you do for a living - we’ve got you covered, literally.
“Our new workwear range tackles the dreaded ‘builder’s bum’ to prevent accidental exposure - no matter how much bending, stretching or heavy lifting the job demands.
“All you’ll crack is a smile.
“We all know the UK’s tradespeople are a tough breed - grafting in all weather conditions to deal with our domestic emergencies.
”Now the battle of the blue-collars is officially on.
“Come and have a go if you think you’re tough enough - whether you’re a scaffolder coming to claim your crown or a plumber keen to defend your honour, email arco@democracypr.com to register your interest.”
