Victoria Plum & Helen Skelton Launch Community Foundation

Helen Skelton Victoria Plum Community Projects

Online bathroom retailer Victoria Plum has partnered with TV and radio presenter Helen Skelton to launch the Victoria Plum Community Foundation to support worthy causes throughout the UK.

The Community Foundation has pledged to donate products to community projects that could do with new bathroom, toilet or shower facilities.

Whether it’s a local youth centre looking old and tired, a much-loved sports pavilion that’s past its prime or a local pet rescue home that’s a bit rough around the edges, Victoria Plum and Helen can help.

To nominate a good cause, applicants should leave their details in the form here before Sunday, 3 September, along with an explanation of no more than 150 words about why they feel the Community Foundation should help.

Helen and the other judges, who are Victoria Plum colleagues representing a diverse range of departments, will then pick what they feel to be the most deserving causes and work with them to improve facilities. If a good cause is selected, Victoria Plum will contact entrants directly for further information.

In all cases, Victoria Plum Community Foundation will endeavour to keep environmental impact to a minimum by utilising unused returned items, which would normally be repackaged.

Helen Skelton commented: “It’s really exciting to be closely involved with the Victoria Plum Community Foundation.

“It’s a fabulous initiative that will have a direct and positive impact throughout the UK, particularly as people can put forward projects they think will have the most benefit for their local community.”

Founded in 2001, Victoria Plum is the UK’s largest online only bathroom retailer and employs around 400 people.

Victoria Plum chief executive, Paul McClenaghan, said: “Although we are most well-known for our bathrooms, we’re doing plenty of work behind the scenes to build a fairer, greener and more socially responsible company.

“The creation of our Victoria Plum Community Foundation is a direct result of this and in Helen we have the ideal person to help us launch and deliver it to worthy causes nationwide.

“We now look forward to receiving the entries and working with Helen and our colleagues to select those where we think our products could make the greatest community impact.”
