Wickes applies to share store space with B&M Homestore in Kettering
Plans to halve the size of a Kettering DIY store to incorporate a B&M Homestore shop will be considered by Kettering Council next week.
Wickes wants to reduce the size of its store in Northfield Avenue to allow B&M Homestore to take over the remainder of the floorspace.
The plans will be discussed at Kettering Council’s planning committee meeting on Tuesday.
In its application, Wickes says that it wants to reduce the size of its own store to about 2,500 sqm, allowing B&M Homestore to take on the remaining 2,000 sqm.
The application is for a change of use, as when planning permission was originally granted it allowed only the sale of bulky goods, such as those sold in Wickes.
