Wickes retail store opens in Hailsham
Retailer Wickes will be opening the doors of its new store to Hailsham residents this Sunday, August 20.
The new store is one of 13 opening this autumn following the acquisition of selected Focus DIY stores across the UK.
All employees who previously worked at the store have retained their jobs.
Ben Jackson, store manager, said: “We have been pleased to save these jobs and impressed by the number of store colleagues who have been so enthusiastic about working with us. Working for Wickes offers huge opportunities including extensive in-store training and career progression within the company.
“The new Wickes store is a major investment in the area and plays a significant role in our ongoing store opening programme across the UK - we’re delighted with this latest addition to our estate,” said Tim Matthews, Director of Retail Development, Wickes. “Hailsham needs a DIY store that‘s serious about home improvement. We offer a range of quality DIY and trade products for the local community, and we know that once a customer has visited one of our stores they will return time and time again to enjoy quality products, low prices and practical advice.”
The Hailsham store is 22,000 sq ft and features a comprehensive range of products for local tradesmen and serious DIYers. It is open Monday to Saturday, from 7.00am to 8pm and Sunday, from 10am to 4pm.
