Wickes Strengthens Community Programme Commitment
- Wickes Community Programme boosts donations by 11% amid growing demand for local support
Home improvement retailer Wickes has strengthened its commitment to local communities in 2025, delivering an 11% increase in donations through its Community Programme. Wickes has donated over 27,000 products to over 2,400 charities and community organisations nationwide, helping extend its mission of helping the nation feel house proud beyond the home and into the heart of local communities.
This increase highlights the growing pressures facing charities and community groups, as rising costs make it increasingly difficult to fund improvement projects independently. As a result, more organisations are seeking support to help bring vital projects to life, initiatives that might otherwise not be possible.
Wickes has supported a wide range of projects, including school wellbeing gardens designed to support children’s mental health, refreshed hospital wards to create more comforting environments for patients, and essential repairs to Scout huts and community centres that sit at the heart of local neighbourhoods.
Since its launch in 2022, the Wickes Community Programme has transformed more than 7,000 local projects, donating everything from paint and tools to essential building materials to help charities and community groups bring their improvement plans to life.
The programme is now open for applications for the year ahead. Charities and community groups interested in applying can visit our website to learn more and complete the application form https://www.wickes.co.uk/community-programme
Hannah Randle Hockin, Community Engagement Manager at Wickes, said: “Through our work with local organisations, we see the real pressure facing community spaces, and that’s why this support matters. From school gardens to community halls, these places mean a lot to the people who rely on them. Being able to offer practical help and see the difference it makes locally is something we’re really proud of, and we’re keen to support even more projects in the year ahead.”
