Wilkinson seeks new CEO as Stuart Mitchell steps down
It is understood that the CEO of value retailer Wilkinson, Stuart Mitchell, has decided to leave the business to pursue other opportunities.
Mitchell held the top position for almost six years, guiding the business through a period of transition which included store and multi-channel expansion, product and category changes and a re-branding exercise.
A statement to staff said: “Stuart’s contribution to Wilkinsons in almost six years as chief executive has been extraordinarily valuable and he will be missed for his larger-than-life personality, good nature and energy.
“Much of real merit has been achieved under Stuart’s period of leadership and the foundations for the next era of Wilkinsons have been well and truly set. We wish him all the very best in whatever he chooses to do in the next instalment of his life.”
No further reference has been made about Wilkinson’s alleged interest in fellow home and hardware retailer, Robert Dyas.
