Wilko Opens New Store In Uxbridge
Everyday household and garden retailer, wilko, opened its newest store in Uxbridge, west London today [22nd November], marking a triumphant return to the area.
Local shoppers were out in force, with customers eagerly queueing up to get a first look at the new store at The Pavilions Shopping Centre.
A ceremonial ribbon-cutting was held at 9am to officially mark the store’s opening. The first person in the queue received an exclusive prize bundle of an air fryer, electric fleece throw and festive decorations, while the first 50 shoppers in line received goody bags containing a selection of wilko favourites.
Throughout the event, customers also had the chance to ‘spin the wheel’ for exciting prizes, with eager shoppers bagging gift cards and pick-n-mix vouchers.
The Dulux dog made a special appearance at the opening event, delighting both children and adults, while a live SodaStream demonstration also drew interest from visitors. Fundraising activities were also held in support of the NSPCC, wilko’s official charity partner.
Spanning approximately 30,000 square feet, the new two-storey Uxbridge store offers shoppers a wide range of wilko’s signature products across key categories including cleaning and laundry, decorating and DIY, home and garden, and pet care. Shoppers can also get their hands on everything they need for Christmas with a selection of wilko’s much-loved own-brand products and popular name brands housed in the store.
Shoppers can access wilko’s full online range of over 100,000 products via self-service terminals, with options for home delivery or Click & Collect, allowing local customers to order online and pick up in as little as one hour.
The Uxbridge store opening is part of wilko’s exciting expansion under the ownership of CDS Superstores, following recent store launches in Poole, Exeter, Luton, Plymouth, St Albans and Rotherham.
CEO of CDS Superstores, trading as The Range and wilko, Alex Simpkin said: “We’re thrilled with the warm welcome we’ve received in Uxbridge today, marking a very positive start to our residence here at The Pavilions.
“It’s great to see the local community’s enthusiasm for wilko’s return, and we’re determined to continue providing quality products at great value prices as even more shoppers visit our Uxbridge store in the coming months.”
