Woolworths to launch 'Value' range

During its latest results announcement planned for tomorrow, Woolworths is expecetd to unveil a new 'Value' Brand, to help fight off the competition from the Supermarkets.

The 'Worth It' range, created in response to similar brands in Tesco and Asda, will be launched at the end of April, and will be extended across the majority of Woolworths key categories.

A source close to Woolworths said that while Worth It lines will be less expensive than others, the retailers margin has not been compromised, and the ranges will be available across most of the Woolworths store estate.

Woolworths has continued to suffer as a result of the Grocers expansion into non-food sectors, and its Retail Chain experienced a like for like sales decline of 4.6% over the key Christmas trading period.
