Leading kitchen and bedroom retailer Wren has officially opened its new Derry/Londonderry showroom, creating 15 new jobs in the local area.

Councillor Grace Uí Niallais, Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council joined the showroom team to cut the ribbon and welcome the first customers through the doors at Crescent Link Retail Park on Friday 18th September.

To mark the opening, Wren also donated £1,000 to Hive Cancer Support, which provides practical and emotional support to people affected by cancer and their families. The local charity was chosen by Councillor Grace Uí Niallais as her official charity for her year in office.

The new showroom is Wren’s third location in Northern Ireland, joining Belfast and Newtownabbey, and the sixth new showroom opened by the retailer this year.

Customers can explore 27 kitchen displays and 13 bedroom displays, with a wide range of styles, layouts and practical ideas for different homes and budgets.

The showroom also features two media walls, a home-office display, a home bar and an under-stairs storage solution, giving customers ideas for making better use of space throughout the home.

There is also a wide selection of finishing touches to browse, including worktops, handles, flooring, tiles, sinks and taps.

Ten Virtual Reality suites allow customers to step inside their new design before placing an order. They can move around the space, open cupboards, doors and drawers, and get a realistic feel for how the finished layout will look and work.

David Perkins, General Showroom Manager, said:

“It’s brilliant to finally have the doors open and welcome our first customers into the showroom.

“A lot of work has gone into getting everything ready, and the team is really proud of what we’ve created. There’s loads for customers to explore, from kitchens and bedrooms to media walls, home offices and clever storage ideas.

“We’re really pleased to be creating 15 new jobs locally, and we’re looking forward to welcoming people from across the area and helping them create spaces they’ll love.”

Wren’s expert designers are available to help customers create a space that works for them, whether they are planning a new kitchen or bedroom or looking for ideas for another part of their home. The team can support customers throughout the whole process, from their first design appointment and home measure through to delivery and installation.

Free design appointments can be booked online, while customers are also able to call into the showroom, explore the displays and meet the team.
