Wyevale rumoured to be up for sale
Over the weekend The Times reported that Guy Hands’ private equity company - Terra Firma - has received a number of offers for the Wyevale chain of garden centres.
Terra Firma bought Wyevale in 2012 at a cost of £276m. Reported revenue for 2014 was £290.4m with EBITDA of £56.1m.
It is thought that talks have taken place with Goldman Sachs, among others, over an auction for the business. A sale price in the region of £700m was mentioned in the report.
Wyevale currently operates 153 garden centres across the UK compared with 129 at the time of the acquisition.
