3M Launches New Range of Comfort-led PPE in Screwfix

3M (corporate)

3M, the global leader in professional products for tradespeople, has launched an extensive range of new personal protective equipment (PPE) in Screwfix branches nationwide.

Covering hearing, respiratory, and eye protection, the extended product range, now available in around 1,000 Screwfix branches, is designed to increase both safety and comfort for tradespeople, with integrated features that also improve the workday.

As part of the launch, 3M has run a national roadshow, visiting multiple Screwfix branches and training teams on the benefits of the new products, including how they support different trades to protect themselves without compromising comfort, communication or productivity. Screwfix customers were invited to visit branches during 3M’s visits, where they received product discounts and entered competitions to win product bundles worth up to £500.

The new range includes WorkTunes™ Connect, a wireless headphone that protects ears from hazardous noise while also enabling music, podcast, and audiobook streaming via Bluetooth from a smartphone or other mobile device. 3M’s new Pro-Protect Earmuffs include active microphones, enabling on-site teams to communicate clearly, even in loud environments.

The new Aura™ Comfort Cool Flow™ Particulate Respirator is designed for those repairing walls, ceilings, floors or roofs, offering protection from high levels of fine dust and oil or water-based mists.

3M’s new Scotchgard™ Protector Anti-Fog Safety Goggles provide eye protection with improved air circulation and reduced fogging, featuring a curved lens for wide-field vision, while the Scotchgard™ Protector Safety Glasses offer a stylish, modern thin-framed design with a removable foam gasket that helps limit eye exposure to nuisance dust and flying debris.

Gemma Brown, Key Account Manager for 3M, said: “For PPE to be effective, it needs to be something people are willing to wear all day. That means looking beyond protection alone and considering how products fit into the realities of working on site, where comfort and practicality can make all the difference.“Tradespeople should also be able to access quality PPE as easily as they can the tools and materials they rely on every day. Our partnership with Screwfix is an important step towards making that happen, combining our expertise in protection with the reach of one of the UK's best-known trade retailers.

“We're pleased to be supporting Screwfix's ambitions to become the leading destination for PPE, while helping more tradespeople make informed choices about their personal protection.”

The new 3M range available at Screwfix can be found in stores across the country, and online here.
