B&Q Predicts Peaks In Online Searches For Christmas Trees

BQTrees 01

Customer data from B&Q can reveal Tuesday 26th November will mark the beginning of the festive season rush, as more than 25,000 Brits are expected to start searching for Christmas trees online at diy.com.

This comes as consumers embrace the Christmas spirit, with Netflix announcing this week their latest Christmas releases are already topping streaming charts. With ‘Meet me Next Christmas’ being the most watched movie of the week, achieving 18.1 million views in its first five days.

Following this, the retailer further predicts a wave of online Christmas shopping on December 3rd - historically its busiest day for holiday purchases.

However, budget-conscious Brits have been bagging artificial trees as early as August and September in a bid to spread the cost and reduce festive spending spikes.

Paddy Earnshaw, Retail Director at B&Q, said:

“We’re looking forward to welcoming thousands of customers through our physical and digital doors over the coming weeks as the festive season ramps up. With a huge range of decorations, homeware, gifts and - of course - trees, customers are sure to find something to suit every taste and budget. What’s more, £1 from the sale of every real tree sold at B&Q this year will go to our charity partner, Shelter.”
