Former B&Q store in Derry taken on by The Range

The Range Barnsley 725 x 500

The Range is to open a new store on the site of the former B&Q store in Derry, Northern Ireland.

The Buncrana Road unit has remained empty since B&Q closed the store in January 2016, and it is expected that up to 100 new jobs will be created when it opens later this year.

The Range moved into another B&Q unit in Northern Ireland during October 2016. The Ballymena store was the first to open in the country,

In August 2016, The Range opened its first store in Southern Ireland, located in a former Atlantic Homecare unit in Limerick’s Childers Road Retail Park.

A further store opened in Cork's Eastgate Retail Park last month.

A spokesperson for The Range said: “We can confirm that The Range are planning to open a new store at the former B&Q site in Faustina Retail Park in Londonderry.

“The new store will create between 80-100 full and part-time jobs for the local area.”
