The largest Danish retailer operating globally, JYSK, is set to open its first Liverpool store on 17th October 2020. Situated at Hunts Cross Retail Park, the people of Liverpool will be able dive into the world of Danish home furnishings in the biggest JYSK store in the UK. With Liverpool being one of the most popular shopping destinations in the North West, it creates the perfect location for JYSK’s newest and largest store. The 1350sq mt store boasts two levels and will be full to the brim with on-trend and affordable homeware items. Not only will the store bring affordable Scandi-chic to Liverpool but also some great career opportunities for the local area. The store will be managed by Liverpool native, Victoria Bostock.

The newest store launch comes at a time when huge proportion of the population is at home more than ever before. As a result, many of us are choosing to invest in our living spaces, instead of going out or on holiday. With the near future of the high street and bricks and mortar stores looking less than certain, it might seem like a bold move to open a new store during a pandemic.

Jenny Johnston, JYSK Sales and Marketing Manager, UK & Ireland explains the thinking behind this move: “We are delighted to be opening our first store in Liverpool – and our biggest in the UK to boot. Liverpool remains an ever-popular choice as a shopping destination. That coupled with the scale of the city and its inhabitants means it is an exciting opportunity for us. Crucially, we have ensured, just like with all our stores, that it is a safe and enjoyable place to shop under the current COVID-19 circumstances. There is no denying that items purchased for the home have a sensory element – you need to feel sheets or touch a mattress before you commit to buy. JYSK Liverpool will provide the shopping experience we have all missed while remaining incredibly safe with social distancing and a very high standard of hygiene and cleaning measures in place.”

Liverpool is the first store of JYSK’s upcoming UK expansion plans, with another 6 store launches by the end of the financial year which will take their UK total stores to an ambitious 26, “The sky really is the limit for JYSK and we remain committed to our expansion plans even in the current climate,” says Jenny.

Store Manager, Victoria Bostock, who has lived in Liverpool her whole life backs the opening and is excited by the prospect of managing the store. Before coming on board to launch JYSK Liverpool, Victoria worked for retail giant, Arcadia which provided her with the perfect skills to manage JYSK’s largest store. Victoria is excited by the career development prospects that comes with an ever growing and developing company like JYSK. “I am thrilled to be a part of the JYSK Family,” Victoria explains, “this year has been a tough time for the UK job market, and I cannot wait to mentor and help others develop their careers whilst managing the biggest JYSK store in the UK.”

In addition to incredibly priced, stylish homeware, the Liverpool store will have some exclusive offers to celebrate its launch. Shoppers will be able to snap up Wellpur memory foam mattress toppers from £70 (usually £299.99) save up to 50% on sofa beds and enjoy other great deals.
