Screwfix to open second Ipswich store
Screwfix is generating 13 new jobs with the opening of a second branch in Ipswich.
The new store, in Goddard Road on the Whitehouse Industrial Estate, will open on Thursday, October 8, and aims to build upon the success of the chain’s existing store in Foxtail Road on Ransomes Europark.
Store manager Nicola Dean said: “We’ve created 13 brand new vacancies and have employed local people from around the Ipswich area.
“Our new team includes people of all ages and levels of experience, but the most important requirement is that they have the right attitude and can offer superb customer service. Everyone here is really looking forward to the store opening.”
Screwfix, part of Kingfisher which also owns B&Q, is aimed at professional tradesman and high-end DIY enthusiasts.
The new Ipswich store is part of a plan to expand the chain from its present total of 412 branches to around 600.
