Tapi Turns 10: Meet The Experts Behind The Brand

Today marks a major milestone for Tapi Carpet & Floors - as the brand celebrates its 10th birthday, Tapi is reflecting on a decade of flooring innovation and interior inspiration, all with the customer remaining at its heart.
Founded on the 15th May, 2015, in Tooting, by a team of flooring experts with years of experience, Tapi set out to turn shopping for flooring from a chore into a joy
Lord Harris has shared how proud he is of the 10 year milestone: “Over 400 people have been part of the Harris family for more than two decades, but this milestone stands out as one of our greatest achievements. We opened our very first store in Tooting just 10 years ago, and the journey since has been nothing short of remarkable."
"Thanks to our outstanding stores and the incredible people behind them, we’ve not only become the number one flooring retailer in England, but we’ve also risen to the top across Europe. Our success comes from staying ahead of the curve and continually evolving as a brand."
"Looking ahead, my ambition is clear: to become the number one flooring retailer in the world, for the second time. This is still just the beginning of the Tapi journey, and I’m deeply grateful for the continued support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Jeevan Karir, CEO at Tapi adds, “We’ve evolved the customer journey, making it more flexible, more convenient, and more responsive to modern lifestyles, whether customers choose to shop from home, in-store, or wherever works best for them.”
The secrets of success
Tapi has turned itself from a single store into a thriving store network with over 200 locations nationwide in the past 10 years. Steve Davies, Senior Sales Director at Tapi, shares why he believes Tapi has grown so successfully, its customer service playing a leading role: “Throughout this growth, our commitment to exceptional customer service has remained unwavering. Ten years ago, we had just 100 Trustpilot reviews. Today, that number has soared past 80,000 - with customers consistently rating us ‘Excellent.’ That’s a direct reflection of the passion and expertise our teams bring to every interaction, ensuring each experience feels seamless and genuinely personal.
“Our 220 mobile showrooms not only helped us expand our reach but became a crucial lifeline during the COVID-19 pandemic - enabling us to continue serving customers safely, flexibly, and effectively when it mattered most.
“We’ve also embraced digital transformation to make choosing flooring easier, more inspiring, and more convenient than ever. From browsing to visualising, our customers now have powerful tools at their fingertips - empowering them to explore perfect flooring options.”
What’s trending now?
Tapi has become a trusted name for those who want their flooring to be as stylish as their soft furnishings. “We stay ahead of trends by monitoring industry forecasts, actively engaging in social media trends and drawing inspiration from emerging interior styles, colours, and lifestyles,” says Johanna. “We’re constantly innovating and updating our collections to make sure there’s something for every taste and every room.”
Johanna shares her personal picks for 2025: “I love luxury vinyl tiles and planks for their durability and aesthetic appeal. And nothing excites me more than a beautifully contrasting stair runner - it adds such a stunning touch to a home.”
The future of flooring
Jeevan Karir, CEO, at Tapi, shares what’s next, “As we look to the future, our ambition is clear, we want Tapi to continue growing while staying true to the core values that have brought us success. Our goal is to be the most loved and trusted flooring brand in Britain, not just the biggest.
“That means staying relentlessly focused on delivering great value, visionary innovation, and continuing to refine a customer experience that genuinely makes life easier. We have some exciting projects underway in a bid to extend our offering, and we will always keep our customers at the centre of everything we do, the rest will follow”, he says.
Game-changing flooring partnerships
A recent innovation was the brand’s collaboration with Nike Grind. Lord Harris explains: “Recently we have been able to partner with NIKE Grind to bring an underlay to market that is cleverly designed to avoid unnecessary waste, it's made with at least 20% Nike Grind laminated PU foam from manufacturing scrap. This has proven to be a massive success and our customers love the two underlay products we have launched. We have recently introduced brands such as Karndean and Quickstep to our collections and we are working very closely with all our suppliers to get the best value for money and to give 100% service to our customers.”
