Travis Perkins Launches Management Training Programme
An initiative designed to create the next wave of leaders at the UK’s largest builders’ merchant has been launched.
The Travis Perkins Fast Track Management Programme will see 12 new recruits begin a two–year training programme, with the aim of them occupying a management position within a branch in the future.
Successful candidates will undertake Level 2 and 3 Apprenticeship qualifications as part of their training, with three learners operating in each of Travis Perkins’ four geographical regions.
The Management Programme will provide comprehensive development opportunities, with the learners given the chance to work across multiple branches and within different teams, as well as receiving coaching support and the chance to liaise with colleagues on a national basis.
Applications for the Management Programme are open by visiting:https://www.tpplccareers.co.uk/jobs?q=%22Fast_Track_Management_Trainee_Programme%22&options=&page=1
Rich Lavin, Managing Director of Travis Perkins, said: “We are thrilled to be reintroducing the Fast Track Management Programme which represents a genuine opportunity for new colleagues to see a career pathway which takes them from the branch to the boardroom.“We have seen fantastic success from the initiative previously, with many of our current Regional Directors starting out on the Management Programme and now going on to occupy senior positions across the Travis Perkins Group.
“We are seeking to attract candidates who are excited about the opportunity, display leadership potential and ambition, are adaptable and can build strong relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers.“At a time when there are nearly one million youngsters not in employment, education or training in the UK, we are delighted to be offering a fantastic opportunity for people to take their first steps in a career which could take them to the very top of the builders’ merchant industry.
“We look forward to beginning the application process and creating opportunities for 12 talented future leaders, as well as further developing our own proactive talent management strategy.”It is expected the new learners will start on their training programme via a launch event inOctober. Engagement and networking events will then be held quarterly, while former alumni of the programme will offer development support to the successful candidates.
The 12 branches in which the apprentices will be based are Bristol St Philips, Cambridge Coldhams Lane, Chippenham, Edinburgh West, Epsom, Hartlepool, Lee Green, Leeds Elland Road, Northampton Harvey Reeves Road, Norwich North, Staples Corner and Witney.
