US retailers partner with Uber for discounted fares
Taxi service Uber has found a new way to entice consumers to use their service: it now collaborates with retailers to offer free rides to its customers.
Currently, Uber works with several local retailers in the United States right now, in a program called Uber Offers. if customers buy something from these retailers, provided they use a credit card that is also linked to their Uber account, they can get a discount for their next ride.
Customers are informed of the possibility when they open the Uber app in particular cities, like San Francisco, New York, Miami, Dallas and Boston. The pilot program proved to be very successful and the company has now expanded the service to the entire country.
For Uber Offers, Uber collaborates with TrialPay, a 2015 start-up controlled by Visa. TrialPay creates deals between app developers and advertisers, which means it helps Uber find retailers that are willing to pay for discounts, in exchange for advertisements in Uber's app.
