Wickes celebrates opening of two new format stores
DIY and home improvement specialist Wickes celebrated the launch of its new look stores in Doncaster and Chatham with a weekend of festivities. Visitors to the stores were treated to a glass of fizz and a piece of a giant cake, and 15% off everything in store. The Dulux dog- an old English sheepdog- made an appearance to celebrate Dulux’s new in store colour mixing service and posed for photo’s with fans.
The Big Kick agency built a giant paint pot on wheels to drive local awareness and footfall around the Doncaster and Chatham areas. The Big Kick’s specially trained brand ambassadors were on hand to welcome guests in and show customers to the new pay+collect counter. Celebrity gardener Diarmuid Gavin gave gardening masterclasses and shared his green fingered tips and tricks with the public.
Lindsay Donnelly, store manager at Wickes Doncaster commented: “We’ve completely redesigned the store to make it easier to shop for your home improvement project. We’re delighted to be one of the first stores in the country to offer the counter service, which has helped create a new DIY shopping experience. The new look store is designed to be even more project-focused - the layout will easily guide customers to be able to find everything that they need for their project, in one visit. We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors through our doors this weekend and hope that local residents will come and join us for the array of activities we’ve put on to celebrate.”
