Wolseley Plans Further Supply Chain Investment to Support Renewables Demand

Wolseley Darlington fulfilment centre

Leading specialist merchant distributor Wolseley Group has announced a further strategic investment in its supply chain infrastructure, with a second specialist fulfilment centre to support customers delivering large and complex renewables projects.

The investment forms part of Wolseley’s long‑term strategy to strengthen its renewables proposition and ensure the business is well positioned to support the accelerating transition to low‑carbon heating across the UK.

Located in Darlington, the new fulfilment centre builds on the success of the Measham Fulfilment Centre, announced in September 2025. Together, the two sites form part of a long‑term infrastructure strategy designed to expand specialist capacity, improve resilience across the supply chain and support customers as demand for renewable and low‑carbon technologies continues to grow.

Based on the model established at Measham, the Darlington facility will provide specialist fulfilment capability for larger and more complex products such as air source heat pumps, and will facilitate delivery at scale for both existing and new contract customers and large‑project customers. This approach strengthens Wolseley’s ability to support complex renewables installations, while freeing branches to focus on serving local trade customers with speed, expertise and availability.

Patrick Berard, CEO at Wolseley Group, said:

“Following the success of our Measham Fulfilment Centre, this investment marks another important step in building a supply chain that is fit for the future. It enables us to better support customers delivering large‑scale and complex renewables projects, while continuing to provide the reliability and service our customers expect as the market evolves.

“This is a long‑term investment in our infrastructure and our customers, ensuring we are ready to support growth in low‑carbon technologies and deliver what customers need, when they need it.”
