Wren Kitchens has opened a new transport depot in the northwest.

The new four-acre depot is Wren's sixth and is situated on the outskirts of Manchester, joining strategically located sites in Howden, Barton, Bristol, Stansted and Larkhall.  Around 40 jobs have been created at the depot, including drivers, porters, yardsmen and supervisors.

The kitchen retailer has ambitious expansion plans and recently announced a £120m investment into its Barton-upon-Humber site, including the addition of a 910,000 sq ft factory.

Lee Holmes, Wren Kitchens Head of Transport Operations, said: "We operate a complex operation, delivering over 2,000 kitchens a week to customers across the length of breadth of the UK.

“Our logistics are at the heart of Wren’s success, and as the company continues to grow, so does the need for better connectivity to be closer to our customers across the UK to ensure we continue to deliver 99.5% on time and in full.

“We’re also focussing on reducing our impact on the environment, and with the recent investment of greener trucks and our increased presence across the UK, we will continue to reduce CO2 emissions.”

Wren opened its 80th store in Exeter this week.
