B&Q Folkestone to finally close in January

B&Q Folkestone

B&Q has announced that its Folkestone store will finally close in January 2017.

Staff were originally told of the planned closure of the Park Farm Road branch in October 2015, when Kingfisher announced plans to close up to 60 of their B&Q stores in the UK.

The closing down sale will commence at the beginning of November and shoppers will be able to take advantage of the clearance sale until the store finally closes in January 2017.

Once the store has shut for the final time, local shoppers will need to travel to the stores in either Ashford or Dover to purchase their home improvement and gardening products.

B&Q have advised that any customers wishing to purchase kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms, or wanting to purchase from TradePoint or use the Click and Collect service, B&Q Club or Diamond Club cards, will be best served at these two remaining stores or by visiting diy.com.

A B&Q spokesperson said: "We can confirm that staff at B&Q Folkestone have been told their store is set to close in January 2017. We will endeavour to find alternative positions for as many colleagues as possible".
