Images released of revolutionary new Wickes store in Crawley

Wickes Crawley

Spring 2017 has been announced as the opening date for the revolutionary new Wickes store in Manor Royal, Crawley. Earlier this month, we announced that plans had been passed for the completely new look Wickes store - read the original news article here.

Travis Perkins secured planning permission to build the completely new style showroom on the edge of County Oak Retail Park opposite Astral Towers.

The main contractor for the project Mildren Construction will commence work in September 2016, with the building expected to be completed and open by spring 2017.

The first designs have been revealed by the architects The Harris Partnership, showing artist impressions of the Wickes store next to Pets at Home. A representative of the company stated that the building "represents a significant departure from the traditional Wickes store appearance with far more visibility of the showroom exhibits for passers-by and also from within the building".

The news also follows the recent approval from Crawley Borough Council to demolish the old Homebase store in West Green to build five new "bulky goods" shops in its place. Wickes already has a Kitchen & Bathroom store at Denvale Trade Park in Three Bridges.
